Was just wondering... Seen some people get approved. Would like some more data points...
I'am pre-approved on Chase's website. And would love to get in with them. Just have a lot of new accounts in the past 24 months.
Any info would be most appreciated.
Thanks!

A pre approval for the CSP, Freedom mainly and somewhat the Slate is about the only way to get in if you exceeded 5 new accounts in the last two years. If you apply, you have to hope for an instant approval. If it isn't and it goes to review you'll be declined if you're over the 5/24.

For the cobranded cards, they don't seem to care at all about number of new accounts.
I was approved for Amazon and British Airways this week with 29 new cards in the last 11 months.
Just checked again Chase's pre qualifier... Now Csp is gone and Thier quoting me at their highest Apr... I might bite in a month and half when when my newest accounts Discover, Barclays, Amazon are 6 month's old.
Anyone one know if they will auto decline if Ex is frozen?
Declined for CSP about 2 weeks ago for 5/24. Pretty much expected even though I had a pre-qual. Approved for 2 Chase co-branded cards a couple months ago, however. Both would have easily been under the 5/24 rule. I'm kicking myself for even applying for the CSP. I knew it was a longshot. Shouldn't have wasted the hit. Just sucks because the CSP was the card I had been planning for and working up to for about a year and then they implemented that stupid rule. Oh well, now Amex and Discover are getting most of my business.
Chase Marriott is the card I really want! But I'm sure I won't qualify... Sorry about the Csp decline... I personally think the 5/24 is extreme in my opinion...

The Freedom and CSP cards follow the 5/24 rule, so if more than five accounts in the last twenty-four months, those cards will not get approved.
The co-branded cards don't follow the same strict rule. Chase does look at the number of cards with reported balances, even a balance less than $10 is considered a balance. If you have several new cards, you may want to make sure a few cards show $0 as of their statement date to avoid those accounts being included in that count.
Chase business cards are not currently part of the 5/24 rule. If you had your heart set on one of those, rumor has it you should act now because the business cards will soon follow the same 5/24 rule.
I was denied the Slate per 5/24 rule a few months back. I was reading on the net about the latest on the 5/24. One thing I saw was the Ink card will soon be under the rule. There is also a very long Reddit topic with people posting data points regarding the 5/24.
I got approved in December for a Freedom. I have more than 5 new accounts in 2 years. I'm not sure if it is only on major cards they count or not but I def have more than 5 new accounts in 24 months.
