Please help!!!

I made a mistake and need help! I went to Bass Pro over the weekend. A friend of mine was working and asked if I would put in a Bass Pro app for a credit card. I am currently in the process of getting ready to buy a home. However, the person said there was a contest going on between the employees and whoever had the most apps would win a gift card. I applied but using a fake social security number and fake birthday. When I woke up this morning, I had a new inquiry on my credit report!! I can't have any new lines of credit or any new inquiries. I never thought in a million years it would show up on my credit report. I know one inquiry won't necessarily hurt anything, but I have SEVERAL inquiries from an app spree during the summer. The last thing I needed was an additional inquiry. How did this happen since I used a fake social? Is there any way I can get it removed. My scores are almost 700. This inquiry dropped my scores 10 pointsSmiley Sad I was trying to help a friend and never thought it would actually go through. I know it's my fault and I shouldn't have done that. Lesson learned.

Re: Please help!!!

Relax...I refinanced my auto loan in the middle of the home buying process last year. It didn't cause any issues. You'll be fine, sometimes folks make stuff like this seem life or death..its not. You'll still get that house. 😊

Re: Please help!!!

You'll have to explain recent credit activity to a loan officer I believe. Applying for credit to help a friend win a gift card is kind of a bizarre rational though, using fake DOB and SSN is even more questionable and ummmm fraud. They may not think you take credit that seriously.
