PreQualified for Lexus Pursuits but then go 2-week notice on actual application.

So I have a used Lexus and figured this would be a good card for me.  Went through the prequal link and said I was approved for 2500.  Went ahead with the actual application and it said I would get a letter in 2 weeks.

is that a denial?  I thought the prequal would be pretty solid.

That card is issued by Comenity.  It could be that the letter will include instructions to call in and verify it was really you that applied or that you forgot to unfreeze your credit reports,  it doesn't necessarily mean a denial.

Right.

OP - are any of your reports frozen, including SageStream/LexisNexis? If not, then as mentioned upthread, just wait for the letter for any next steps. IME, this was the case with one of their cards years ago. Once I received the letter with the instructions, they verified things and the application was fully approved.

Thanks.  I did get a hard pull on equifax.  I do have other Comenity cards.  Not sure about whether Sagestream or LexisNexis is frozen but I don't think so because they're such a pain to deal with.

I guess I'll just have to be patient.

Ok gotcha. If nothing is frozen, then just wait for the letter and keep us posted.
