I'm preapproved for an amex charge card with a $95 annual fee after the first year. I never want to pay an annual fee on any of my cards. Can I cancel around 10 months and never have to pay the annual fee? (By this time, I'm sure I'll have a regular Amex in my collection. My Experian is 670ish and should be rising after my only collection falls off in May and all my accounts age).
When my credit building process started in March...my goal was to attain an Amex card. I can't decide if I should go for this.... or just wait a few more months and try for a regular Amex.
Any thoughts? I don't care about inquiries or anything... I'm not buying a house or anything in the near future. I only have 2 on Experian, anyway.
Edit: After applying for the charge card, can I apply for a regular credit card and will it be 1 HP?

Try applying for the PRG which has the first year's AF waived and 25,000 MR pts with $2,000 spend in first 3 mos.
I'm preapproved for the AMEX PRG. So should I just apply for this then cancel at around 11 months? I'm sure by then I'll have all the cards I want. I'm supposed to be in the garden until May, I think... but I really just want to see Amex on my credit report. I'll know then that I've made it.
