Promise Financial - Pulled Transunion - Add your TU experience here

I applied at Promise Financial today for a personal loan and they did a soft pull only from Transunion. Transunion pulling companies are practically nonexistant.

Don't let the website's wedding theme fool you. They loan money for more than weddings. Read their FAQs to find out more.

There will be a hp as well.

They WERE reporting my loan as a student loan on Equifax but that has since been removed. It's currently not reporting and I'm ok with that.

There would be a hp if I was approved and accepted the loan. I was denied because of debt to income ratio. My student loan is reporting a payment of $717 when it's actually $228 and a few things that I paid off are still showing a payment. My student loan was recently transferred to a servicer named Mohela and it should be updating to the correct payment amount soon.  There will soon be a window of opportunity for me where $1100 worth of payments will disappear from my report. Some temporarily and some permanently.

I'm a big fan of Promise Financial. Scored a loan from them in August at 6.2% and used it to pay off a Lending Club loan that was at 16.55%. Both of them pull TU.

I think it should be illegal to deny credit based on number of recent inquiries. Companies are making it impossible to shop for the best deal. They should have a better system that tracks recent approvals. But sometimes it works out better that they can't track recent approvals

it's absolutely stupid!

I literally want to reach through the phone and smack someone when they say "oh why do you have so many inquiries?" right after THEY PULL an Inquiry!

For the heck of it I filled out the app to see the rates and what not. Declined with a TU of 718. Excessive number of new accounts, amount of inquiries too high, installment balances are too high in relation to their limits. Blah blah lol

I did it for giggles and pre-approved for 15.x.. No need for it.. Weird how lending tree always says NO and others all say yes.. All a SP and just takes the edge off applying for anything

I assume you mean Lending Club. Lending Tree is a garbage company that farms out the app to multiple lenders who do hard pulls. We should never confuse the two.
