Re: Pulled the trigger for the Ritz

thanks @finstar

veering a bit OT, any thoughts on how to strategize the retention calls?

I've got AFs staggered like this:

Dec/Jan: SPG

Jan: Everyday Pref

Feb: Plat

Do you call each one separately and if so, get ahead of all of them before they post. My main concern is if i get anything for the lower tier cards the platinum offer may suffer. (Plat is the one card that i won't downgrade, and the EDP card has been useful for maxing out grocery spend)

Re: Pulled the trigger for the Ritz

So.. Nothing yet from Chase.

Called in,  rep referenced that i called yesterday (what a way to make you feel like a chump).  Said it was originally sent to a "Senior Analyst"..   Referenced some long time frame.

I would hope this is just rubber stamped?  The last thing i need is a rejection for some trivial reason like too much credit w chase, esp since I can move over unused limits from other cards.

grrrr.  meanwhile i am paying out of pocket for flight fees that i need to book today/over next couple of days....

Re: Pulled the trigger for the Ritz

I can only imagine that their staffing is below capacity given the holiday season.....

As I have stated it took me approx10(business days) for Marriott verification when I got the Ritz before they would ship it!  It is a very slow process.  Once verified they do overnight it

my Marriott account online changed to Gold status Thursday of last week, so I would assume that was when it became verified.  In the meantime, I got my gold status upgrade for Hyatt and Hilton with the status matching they are doing...

One would think although mine changed to gold about 4 to 5 days before mine shipped as well.   I think it is the computuers talk to each other iis what makes it so slow.  Least you should have it before the new year so you get the airline credit.  At this point if it isnt in UPS you won't get it prior to Christmas, but you can call tomorroow and check if it can be expedited meaning receiving it most liklely monnday if they have the  option available during you call.  For some reason part of their agreement with Marriott they just arent alloweed to ship it prior to verification with their records.  Anyways, best of luck

Re: Pulled the trigger for the Ritz

I wonder if other Chase cards are being delayed.

Maybe ritz is being delayed on purpose. Either to keep up appearances like an iPhone launch or to make sure we don't make the $300 credit for 2015

Re: Pulled the trigger for the Ritz

@CreditCuriousity

Did you have a ritz or Marriott account before this app?

I had a BA account before apping for Chase Avios card and that caused a delay
