Pulled the trigger on Citi Prestige

Had my EX frozen and the app didn't go through.

Called the recon line and they said they only lookat EX so I gave them a one time code to view it.    After a while they said they will send me a form to request SSN verification.  I assume this is the SSA-89, so i offered to just fax it in right away.  (I am hoping to open this up in time to use the airline credit for 2015)

I apped for a Citi card over a year ago and got rejected but back then I had a massive app spree. My latest app is from Jan.  11 INQ on EX (not incl today's).  814 EX FICO.  0-1% util, non-revolving.   I haven't checked my total TLs but shoudl be $110-120k.    Single largest limit with Amex = EDP $20k,  Chase United Club $17k.    Soft Amex platinum limit $70k.  Drops to $50k when I've charged up the card during the month.

Fingers crossed.

I want to apply for the citigold checking and get another 50k ThankYou points so hoping this gets approved soon. I should probably wait for this card to go through before apping for the citigold? (the other reason is that citigold provides for a $100 AF reduction on the card).

I called the recon dept afterwards and they said it takes 24-48 hrs for the faxes to get uploaded to the app by their intake dept.

grrr.

Based on your profile, I think you are golden! They are requesting for additional infor to verify your identity, it's not a flat out denial so your chances are very good imo. Good luck and I hope you get that Prestige card.

Re: Pulled the trigger on Citi Prestige

I hope they dont have to mail the form to SSA but more take it for compliance and can action it on their end ASAP. Ideal scenario would be approval tomorrow and have it fedexed on Monday in time for last minute shopping and travel booking.

Re: Pulled the trigger on Citi Prestige

Called into citi and fax hasn't been uploaded to the application yet. The lady noted how I called yesterday too.

Is it worth to call in, generally?

Does the online app status site give updated info?
The reason I've been calling in is to
1) pre empt any declines. (My main concern would be cards open in last two years, which is more of an issue with Chase hence holding off until spring)

2)ask for expedited shipment. We have family traveling before the year end and I could definitely use the $250 airline credit

Re: Pulled the trigger on Citi Prestige

Just checked my EX report and the hP was posted. FICO dipped by only three points! From 811 to 802.

I have a total of 12 inquiries on my EX. 8 will drop off by March.

Id be shocked if you aren't eventually approved. Which Citi number are you calling?

Re: Pulled the trigger on Citi Prestige

Apparently being weekend there's a delay in incoming faxes (my SSN verification consent form) being uploaded/ tagged to the application.
