A few weeks ago I shared that I took a chance and applied for the Venture and was instantly approved for $5K. Seeing that folks were apping for 2 cards at one time and getting instant approvals I also applied for a 2nd card...the Quicksilver but it was denied. Hmmm I thought well ok I will wait for the letter but I never received it and for some reason I can never open those electronic emailed letters so I called their credit card application dept last Saturday and I told the lady I would like a letter in the mail concerning the denial. I told her if I qualified for the Venture I should have qualified for the Quicksilver but I wanted to see the reason for the denial. Well Monday I received a call from the Executive Office concerning my denial and the guy said he would have my application looked at again. I wasn't fighting the denial just curious on their reasoning for the denial...I guess I will see what happens since I gave him the ok to submit for reconsideration. I don't care about the triple pull I have more credit than I ever dreamed of having so inq's eh not so scary right now. I don't have anything I really desire in the near future....Sallie Mae can wait until after the holiday season...and house hunting isn't until 2017. I will keep you posted

So the EO says I have "too many" new accounts and that is the reason for the denial on the QS...What?! doesnt make sense app's done seconds from each other but that is the only reason they gave.
When I applied for the platinum in October, I also apped for qs1. I was denied bc you have to wait 30 days before applying for a second cap 1 card.
5k must be your internal limit with Cap 1. Congratulations on that approval at least
