QVC Shopping Cart Trick question

I got a pop up saying I was preapproved but when I put in the last four of my social, i got the 7-10 day message. 

Today I just got a letter in the mail saying they need my phone number for verification. Now, my question is; if i send in my phone number, will it then become a hard pull?

The only way of knowing they didn't pull my credit is that I didn't get a credit alert on Cap1 Credit tracker. Thanks in advance

Interesting, I didnt know QVC had a shopping trick cart/pre approval upon checkout. But if synch bank sent you a letter to call in for verification, then the hard pull will come after that I assume. 

Also, capitalone credit checker monthly says I have no alerts which is so not the truth. I wouldn't rely on that, sign up for creditkarma as that site is very good at giving you alerts as to pulls, new accounts, etc.

and i am sure it was QVC, my mom loves that website so i know i was on it haha
