Question about Cap One cards......

So I bite on a Cap One, QS Rewards, get approved for $500.00, this was Friday I think. Today (Monday) in the mail I get a pre approval "up to $1500" from Cap One for a Platinum card with a $75.00 first year fee and $99.00 each year after. Im like WHAT ! My QS Rewards was only $39 plus a lower interest rate. I guess Im too new to this to get the logic in it. Why would the same company send me another offer that IMHO would only guarantee me at minimum of a $300.00 credit line after they already approved the better one. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Re: Question about Cap One cards......

Yea that sounds like Credit One not Capital One. My mom thinks they are the same company as well no matter how much I try to explain to her it isn't. I haven't heard of Cap One offering cards with AFs like that. I have a cap one and a credit one and my credit one is $75 for the first year.

Yeah that's credit one.. Capital one doesn't have fees like that. Don't pull the trigger!!!!!

Yep that's CREDIT ONE, not CAPITAL ONE.  Stay far, far away from Credit One!!!  Congrats on your new Capital One card, though.

Re: Question about Cap One cards......

Ok never mind I looked up one of the cards on CK. How do they get away with a logo almost exactly the same as Capital One?! Terrible

Re: Question about Cap One cards......

This is what I get for reading things while the wife and daughter are also chatting with me, LOL. It is absolutely Credit One.... and explains it. Not going to make excuses but it was a long day at work also. Either way I wasn't going to bite on it but thanks again to all who replied and clearly figured it out. Happy Holidays to all !
