Hi Thanks Jnbmom, I really appreciate your information. It's funny, I called them to inquire also and I received two different versions...one rep told me that it would be a soft inquiry. I wasn't too sure of her quick information, so I decided to call back and confirm her sentiments. I was then informed by another representative that it would actually be yet ANOTHER hard pull, even though I already have a AU with perfect credit history with CapOne as well as with other CC companies...very confusing but to hear it from another consumer makes it more believable.

Yup, like Jnbmom stated, 100% chance that Cap1 will pull each of the 3 bureaus.
The only lenders I know of that SP for a new card include Amex if you're already a primary cardholder (typically SP, but HP shouldn't be unexpected), and using the Shopping Card Method (SCT).
