Not sure if this is the right place to ask. I plan on applying for amex gold this month (preapproved and hopefully it will be that way by the time I do apply) but I noticed that it shows I have to spend $4k in 3 months to get the 60k SUB. While thats not a problem since I could hit that less than 2 months, I have also heard about people saying their card being declined when spending large amount in a short time after being approved and receiving their cards or their account being flagged. When im not logged in I see the same offer but with it showing 6 months instead of 3 months. I would like to know if anyone been successful in asking amex to extend the amount of time you have to reach the spending amount for the offer? A rep on chat told me to give amex a call to see what offers they may have but just want to get some DP before going through with applying either by phone or online (prefer online though) but would prefer trying not to raise any red flags.
Pretty sure your approval odds would be the same whether you apply logged in or not
Resy is offering 60k + 250 back at restaurants with a 6 month spend period: https://resy.com/amex-offers?date=2021-01-03&seats=2

Well I was asking if anyone been able to change the offer time frame before applying. For my case, its 3 months, but I would like the 6 month offer that I see when im not logged in (or when i view the card page in private window on my browser).
EDIT: Interesting... when I click the apply now button on that page, it shows 6 months instead of 3 while im logged into my amex account while it still show im preapproved. Do the offer usually stick if approved?
Same story with my platinum application. What you could do is log out and clear your history. Your pre-approval still stands in my experience. What I did however is looked up the resy.com amex offers which gives an additional offer of 20% back at restaurants plus 75k points. It has the offer for a gold card too.
Once I knew I was pre-approved, I used the resy link, got the offer and good to go.
I recently got the 75K sub w/ 6 months
If you apply using a referral link from a 3rd party AMEX will honor the terms of that particular offer, but I would suggest you take screen shots of the offer as ammunition if there's an issue later. What they typically will not do is post-approval update the T&C to match a better offer you came across.
