Even with my scores in the upper 600's/lower 700's I could never get the SCT to work and the only Comenity Cards I would use on a regular basis are GameStop and the Ikea Family card. I've attempted to app for the Ikea one once and was declined (too many INQs).

OMGosh. That's absolutely terrifying. I JUST created a post on a different board about how my scores have absolutely TANKED the last couple of weeks (I haven't figured it out yet, but here's the post: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/MASSIVE-Drop-in-FAKOs-amp-FICOs/td-p/535...
I mean I'm seriously scared that these people are going to start shutting me off. I dropped from 590-ish down to 495, and I'm doing everything right as far as I can tell.
I'm seriously baffled that they shut down ONE card because you applied for another. That seems insane!
I have their GameStop and J.Crew store cards, plus the SGV. The GameStop card was a snail mail preapproval but the other two came via the SCT. In my experience the one impossible white whale pop up was always the Total Rewards Visa. I’ve created an account, I’ve booked entire hypothetical vacations, but zip, zilch, nada. I’ve heard that the SGV can be elusive but that one popped up on the second attempt.
Also, Google in Incognito mode can be an invaluable tool in triggering the SCT. That’s how I finally got the J Crew pop up. Also, I have a hunch that if you accept a card through the SCT your CL will be higher than if you accept an offer via snail mail. The SGV came with an initial limit of 4500. Six months later, when I rejected the Williams Sonoma pop up but then accepted the ensuing snail mail preapproval offer I received only 1000.
