Recon question

I've searched and have read countless threads about recon for denials and 7-10 day messages.  "Call this number", "send a secure message", " send an email", what i havent seen is any suggestion for how to start that conversation.  Could someone please help me out? I dont want to say the wrong thing and look/sound stupid.

Do i just say/type "I would like for you to reconsider my application"?

Prequalified for Quicksilver One, denied after submitting app.  Current Cap One Platinum, never late.

Thank you for any suggestions

Re: Recon question

Capital One doesn't do recons, unfortunately.

Re: Recon question

They are the only lender I've read that are generally a hard 'No'. Even though your were pre-qualified, I don't think your current scores are high enough yet.

Re: Recon question

I'd have to agree with the comments above. Capital One does not reconsider denied applications. It seems based on your limit with the Platinum card, that you are still on Cap1's steps program. I would wait for 6 mos. If you had just recently received this Platinum card, that was most likely the reason why they denied your application. You have to wait 6 mos. in between to apply for a new Cap one card. Your current scores as well, maybe too low for that card's current UW. If you really want the QS, you can try to upgrade if you are eligible, they will let you. Sorry OP. Better luck next time.

Re: Recon question

You need to strengthen your profile/scores.  530-550 type scores aren't good enough.  What is holding your scores back?  Usually when you see scores where yours are it's a combination of negative items and high utilization.  While negative items may be difficult to get removed, taking utilization down to a single-digit percentage should be super easy, especially since your limits are very low.
