Ritz Carlton Credit Card

Hi all,

I've been eyeing the ritz card since the start of my rebuild. I am currently in the garden till my next auto loan in July of next year where I plan on leasing a vehicle.

My question is that how long should I wait before I apply for this card. As of today my scores are 712TU 696EX and 695EQ. With 16,14 and 11 inquiries accross the board. I've had 6 new cards in the last 6 months. UTI is at 11% and AAOA is 3 years and 3 months.

My total available credit right around 36K I am using all cards and paying in full.

How long should I wait to give it a shot with Ritz?

Best,
Vic

Re: Ritz Carlton Credit Card

My general advice would be to stay focused on your long term goal, especially if you're looking to get tier one or zero scores for your auto finance. If the Ritz card won't put you off track, by all means consider applying.

For the Ritz card, anecdotal evidence suggests that your scores are in the right ball park and your TCL should be sufficient. However, I wouldn't suggest applying if you have recent derogatories with Chase. You may also want to think about whether your income and existing credit lines support a card with a $10k limit. Knocking util down 2% should be easy and would almost certainly be worthwhile; even better would be to get all cards to $0 except for one under 9%. Getting all your scores over 700 should improve your odds and may be easily acheivable.
