Just got this same message myself. I opened an Amex Plat in April which has seen consistent heavy spend. I also just got approved for the BBP.
Has anyone who got the message originally was able to apply and actually get the SUB?

You mean having the pop-up message appear and applying for the card regardless?

There's been a couple of recent documented cases where a couple members applied for a card, one individual pursued it to their EO (no luck) and the other one was for a cash back card. Neither received the SUB, only one cancelled their card.

This is what I was making sure @GatorGuy was talking about. If that's the case the pop-up is there for a reason. The computer determined you are not eligible for the SUB at this time and is warning you ahead of time of this, so applying & getting approved does not mean it opens up the avenue to talk to customer service to appeal the decision. The decision has already been made. Your only choice is to keep the status quo with AMEX and try another time, or get the card and use its benefits without the signup bonus

I mean someone getting the message and trying again two weeks or month later and it doesn't give the warning anymore.

Yes, you basically just go back and try again. There is honestly no way to determine how long one has to wait before AMEX's algorithm goes "okay, you're good finally" on your application. I would recommend documenting everything in the app process to be safe once they give the greenlight on you getting the SUB for the card of your choice

Thanks, I will definitely keep trying. In the meantime my DW applied so we have one of the bonuses. Ironically she's applied for more cards recently than me.
I was just curious if anyone every had the message go away and how long it took.
Update from the OP:
See this link about a bonus offer on my AMEX Gold card which may have been related to my SUB denial. I received the offer shortly after complaining to Customer Service about the SUB exclusion.

lol, I was thinking that as well. With my slow typing, it would be an hour for me, lol
However, I can totally relate to his frustration. Hate being treated like a number. The reason I don't have an Amex, Discover, they rely way too much on just numbers and not Fico numbers as they should.

I should have complained to see if I could get a specialized offer. ![]()
I will say although they denied me for the Hilton SUB, they did allow me to get the 95k Delta plat SUB.
