Should I get a New Card or Request a CLI instead??

I wanted to know what you guys think or recommend to be best..

I wanted to open a card who offers a decent CL based on my excellent credit profile so i can do a balance transfer and consolidate 2 accts into 1, but am wondering if it would be best to simply request a CLI on my existing card or simply open up a new card and take a gamble on the CL i get. Either one would require a hard pull so I want to make the best decision

The card I would be requesting a CLI on would be my BoA Rewards Platinum Visa which I am only at a CL of $2k and is my oldest acct at 2.5 years.

or if a new card, who is known for giving out the most generous CL's based on a perfect credit profile and a 766 FICO

thanks all

based on your previous posts your credit profile is ok but with how short it is it is still very limiting. that goes into consideration with SLs as well and that's why your current limits are lower too so keep that in mind

It's also harder to get new cards if already have other cards that's maxed out. Also depend how long u have credit for. With a 700+ score and short like 3-9 month would make it even harder. I would say try capital one though. Only thing with them is they don't have those 15-21 months 0% interest

It's hard to know ...what kind of 'damage' you've racked up ...because you mention only a 2k limit on the Visa, so how 'trouble' are you in there vs how

much 'could' you have on those store cards?

Between WM and Old Navy there are 16k possible issues..so knowing how big a CLI you'd 'need' vs where & how big the debt can decide FOR YOU

which options are even open to you.

You may need to buckle down and attack the debt before any CLI is even available based again 'where' this debt is....

Wait a second your siggy says 3% debt ration WTH...that's 100's

IF that's true what's the problem...if it's 100's of dollars then 'what's the real issue or is there a 0 missing and the debt ratio is 30% not 3%?
