Shouldn't have applied for Nordstrom/ done it online

I hate applying for cc's in stores for the obvious reasons. Macys/ bloomingdales are a pain but at least online they send you an email with a number to call or some kind of info.

I applied for Nordstrom online which I shouldnt have done (inquiry sensative/ id sensative). I received this message. I cant remember what message I received about 6 months ago when I applied, but it was not a straight out denial I don't think until I got the letter. Stating they couldnt verify my identity, so when I called they said denied due to too many inquiries. why not just say that lol?

Just a standard message, like anything else. But,honestly given the other threads you posted with "shouldn't have"... are you surprised on the decline? lol. Nordstrom has been known for being I inquiry sensitive amongst a few other factors.
