Do soft inquiries impact credit card applications? The focus seems to be on the # of hard inquiries but do some companies check soft inquiries to see whether an applicants is "seeking credit"?

@leo187um, No one else can see "soft inquiries" only you!
So to answer your question "zero" impact.

When I see my own credit report I see a section that says "Soft Inquiries"... lenders don't see this when they make a hard pull?
ok - tnks!
During my app spree around July 2021 I was approved for IKEA Projekt Card and Sportsman Guide Visa from Comenity. I then tried the shopping cart trick and soft pull pre approvals for Comenity cards. I wasn't wanting to actually get the cards, I was curious as to what the SL would be. I got quite the surprise when Comenity closed both of those cards for too many inquiries for their cards. I did get approved for nine other cards on that app spree so I knew I pushed my luck lol. Then four months later they started sending me preapproval emails for their Sony Visa. I applied for it and got that card with a $1,450 SL so there's that. I don't mess around like that with either Comenity or Synchrony anymore.
Well yeah, just because lender B can't see your SPs for Lender A doesn't mean that Lender A didn't keep their own records. That's one reason I think why more and more banks keep "internal scores" on people and why just having 800+ FICOs can still mean subpar credit approvals. Big data is big business.

Oh, @sarchin you crazy. Nine!?!?!? You've got some set on you. I am impressed my friend... YOLO!!!! 😆😆😆
