Hello!
Haven't posted in a while! I've been gardening for about 2 years now and want to come out for a few increases. How do I know which cards do soft pulls for credit limit increases? I'm in the process of purchasing a home so I don't want to open anything new or have any hard pulls just yet.
Would it be best to call the creditor?
You could call, but I'm sure you would get some answers here if you shared which cards you are looking at CLIs on?

Please list the cards you are looking to increase via "SP"

yes! I still have all those. Navy Fed told me I had reached the aggregate limit with them. I have 2 cards and an auto loan. I do want to switch one of the cards over to the Flagship Rewards card. I have 2 Go Rewards now (one started as a secured card). How does that work?
ok thanks for confirming the soft pulls - do I request via my online account or via phone? Which would be better? Or does it not matter?

With NFCU you can call or secure message them.
Calling is better/faster. (sometimes it can be hit or miss on request) but try!
As far as asking for soft pulls, you can do online or phone app
ETA: Home Depot is usually a hard pull.
Hope that helps?
Any other questions, just ask
Just wanted to let you all know PenFed was a hard pull. They pulled Equifax. CLI to 17500 from a 1500 SL
Amex Delta SP CLI 3000 from 1000 SL
I did the preapproval for Amex, Citi and Capital One. All had multiple offers, but it was too overwhelming lol. I will wait until after closing to pull the trigger on those.
Do you all have any recommendations for a good travel card? I travel often and would like to earn points/$ on for hotel stays. Also flights and rentals!
Thoughts?
@JSF1 - congrats on getting those CLI's.
Since you're trying to close on a house, don't take any additional HPs...even if it's for a CLI.
I don't really use a travel rewards card, although I've got a Disco IT Miles. I'm not traveling so I haven't seen the benefits.
Best wishes on closing.
thanks ! I don't plan to appy for anything else until after closing. It's a new build and won't be finished until Dec/Jan. This is just one hit and I'll be refinancing my car for a better rate which my lender is aware of.
