Struck out on an FNBO preapproval

Tried to prequalify for an FNBO Evergreen... got a denial letter that said I had an insufficient credit file...(Note this was a SP not an HP)

Insuffient also can mean that there is insufficient data or activity on your reports to make a decision. Are you using your accounts requently? They pull EX for the initial SP. Are your files frozen or open? You can also contact them to see whether they can provide some insight on that preliminary decision.

Sorry but don't feel like that Lone Stranger. Twice I've received the exact same reason and I have a pretty decent and thick file with over $150K in available credit card limits with lots of activity including many, many PIF and an occassional balance on 0 APR deals. Plus not a nary negative mark on any of the CRA's. I have no issue if they don't want to Pre-Approve but that reason...well it makes no sense at least in my case as maybe yours as well. Smiley Frustrated
