My wife has 750 F8 with EQ and TU and 720 with EXP. I know Synchrony pulls from TU and we r moving to a new apartment so I apped her for PC Richards card and got declined 3x. 1st app put new address and PCR salesperson put 1.5 years living there and they made her go thru verify on phone. She only has passport so that didnt go well as it only scans license barcodes. 2nd app I changed the time at address to 1 month. Call to verify on phone. Decline. 3rd time we put old address...call to verify...decline. I tried sweet talking the rep and nothing helped. She had ID fraud 2 years ago. She has awesome AoA @ 10 years I think. She had a gap of no credit activity bet 2019 and 2023. I got her a Cap 1 QS card with a 2k limit couple months ago. Score was 640-660 at time of app. Used it for 2-3 months and PIF each month and scores jumped to current 720-750. She only had 1 INQ before SYN which was Cap1. After that we applied for Wayfair. App for 2650. App for Chase Freedom...in review right now. Gunna check tommorow for status. I went for the Chase because 0% APR for 18 i think so that would replace the PCR card. Any tips or ideas why SYN turned her down? They only pulled once for all 3 apps. I think if they were 30 days apart they would repull. But any info on how I can get her the PCR card? Any backdoor recon #'s? I tried calling they after 1st and 2nd time and they wouldnt budge. They said the system locked the decline. Waiting for the letters to come in the mail to see the reasons.
Score is only one piece of the picture. There are other factors a lender will look at such as income and other things on your credit report, pull the reports and see whats on them, good luck to you.
Please post the reasons in the letter when you get it, thank you.
The TU is spotless. No lates. 2% util. No opens but the C1 with 2k. Only 2-3 months old thou. I'm thinking because she didn't have any activity between 2019 and 2023. All the cards and accounts were closed in 2019 or soon after. The only recent activity is the capital one card which is showing with a $41 balance out of 2000 but it's only 2 to 3 months old. I bet if she didn't have the identity theft remark on the report, it probably would've been an auto approve but instead it got manually reviewed and they turned it down because of no recent credit. That's my only guess. But still waiting for the letter. Should be here any day. Thinking about doing a joint app but that will do a hard pull but I think it's still will only count as one because it's within 30 days from the same wonder if that is the case. They advised to do a joint to increase the odds and also if it is an identity issue that will help it. Income is 180,000 a year.
Well I just got an email saying she was approved for the chase freedom card. Ain't that some **bleep**.

synch uses vantage 4.0, which only considers open accounts, so the closed accounts and fico score probably wouldn't factor in as they would with other lenders?
They don't only pull TU btw. They pull many 3rd party providers of data as well that you aren't aware of. That might of caused their decision. They are known to pull innovis/sagestream, etc etc.
Synchrony also doesn't recon at all, much like Comenity. A decline is a decline.
But yes, Synchrony also pulls from Innovis and Sagestream for all applications.
On a much better note.... called Chase to find out CL. 4k. On freedom unlimited. I was baffled. They doubled cap1s CL that she got 2 months ago and the cap 1 was the only active and open card she has. Anyways....during the convo I wanted to make sure she got the 0% for 15 months. The lady said she sees 29.99%. Now, do all new cardholders get the 0 for 15? She said since it's new and was just approved it might take time to populate? I read the terms and it doesn't mention anything about qualifying for the 0. If you get the card, you get the 0. Has anyone ever been turned down for the 0 for 15 promo offer? The promo was active when we applied. Applied sat, approved today.
