Target card canceled. Should I reapply?

I'm considering doing a mini app spree and possibly trying to replace my Target card. The other one was canceled because I wasn't on the ball. I had two payments that were bounced back. I didn't look into why until after the second time. I found that I had the incorrect info listed for my bank account. I corrected it and all was good for awhile. Then I forgot to transfer enough money into the checking account to cover everything that was going to be paid that week (forgot about my car insurance). So the insurance company got paid and Target didn't.  Three strikes and I was out. My fault.

I miss having that one. I like the store and the products. I can use a Visa or MC but the 5% discount was nice. Not much but it adds up. I somehow got a $3K limit when I was approved for the card. I was shocked. That was my highest limit when I was rebuilding in 2012.  I doubt I'd be lucky enough to get that much again. Actually, as I get to this point while typing I'm thinking it might not be worth it. I'd hate to take an inquiry and end up with a $500 or $1K limit.  But, seeing that I've typed this far, would you apply again?

Re: Target card canceled. Should I reapply?

I prefer the target debit card over the CC. It's too high of an APR to carry a balance so it's a PIF card anyway. Still get the same 5% off and it helps me keep my spending there under control 😀

+1 Debit card is a better route no new TL and stil get the 5%.. Don't have the card, just have read up on it and the debit card is a better pick imo!

Re: Target card canceled. Should I reapply?

You need 20+ Accounts for an A in Total Accounts per FACO even though this only accounts for 10% of your total score.

So I would look at over all mix of account types..

Personally, I checkout then go STRAIGHT to Customer Service and pay my bill in FULL  BEFORE leaving the store.
