Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Ok pulled the trigger on a CLI....

Called in through the automated system and after asking for 25000 I was transferred a person.

They said they need me to fill out a 4506t and offered a online option to submit.

I gladly accepted and also asked to raise the CLI request to 30,000 since Im submitting documents anyway.

Thanks wish me Luck lol

They ask for 2 years prior to the current....I am at 70K income so hopefully should be fine for the new increase...

The moral of the story is they can ask for the treaded 4506t at any number....

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

25k for a single card or 35k between a couple or more seems to trigger the 4506t request.

I spoke to an analyst today and he explained that it is 50/50 based on their internal risk level assigned to each person AND card. He explained that based on the usage and pay history for each individual card and not on a overall behavior which didn't make much sense to me until he explained the last part.... "each card is an account and you may be denied for a cli request on one and the next day receive receive an auto cli without even calling for it for the other. I can see you have used and paid over 19k on your charge card in 56 days but only 15k between your two revolving accounts. The heavy use on the charge card could trigger the system to request a FR. I suggest you spread to load more even". At that point I froze for a minute as I was expecting the request to officially come up in the call but he was friendly and I took it as a good advice instead. I make over 200k and in addition I'm a business owner, but I've heard the accounts can be frozen while on FR.

I asked him if FR and the request for 4506t form was the same thing and he clearly said they are both tied to each other but just because the request is out for the form doesn't mean the account will be frozen as it would be under Financial Review.

So...

Financial review (FR) and the request for the 4506t form is NOT the same thing.

This is interesting. I'm still dying to know how those internal scoring systems work.

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Quick question;

Could a denial of CLI request at activation of AMEX reset the 90 days requirement or one can still try at 61 days?

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

You have to wait 90 days after a denial.

Exact same as Yerf.. above.  Tuesday is to be my 61st day, and tried it today. Got the 7-10 day notice.  Declined per chat, and also per chat I have to wait 6 months before trying again?? Was told the 6 month thing by 2 seperate chat csr's, and neither would say wheather or not there was still a 61 day rule.

Whats up with the 6 month thing? Per this forum I was under the impression that a decline is 90 days to resubmit and 6 months between approvals?

Should I wait till Tuesday and try to re app for the CLI? Or just wait for the 7-10 day letter?

A chat rep told me the same thing. After denial she said I had to wait 6 months. She said it would auto denial me until then. Are they changing all teh rules or what??

I opened a BCE 12/24. After hearing of other people having 3X success after 31 days I pulled the trigger 1/25 but was denied. I requested a manual review but then withdrew request. I know I should have just waited 61 days. But they gave me such a tiny limit. Now I'm patiently trying to wait the 90 days. Actually I'm not being very patient about it. If I try again will it reset my 90 days? Or will it just make me wait until 90 from my initial denial? My experian jumped 20 points for whatever reason so I'm thinking my chances are better. I thought I remember reading about someone having success less than 90 days after denial.

Don't do it!! LOL I requested again before my 90 days thinking that after my real initial 61 days it would work. No dice. Rep said 90 days restarts from second denial Smiley Sad

Re: The Definitive Amex 3X CLI Guide

Just to confirm, the day the count begins is that day you get approved for the card, right?  Not when you actually activate it.
