So I was just approved for a BCE and an EDP. Should I be doing 3x on activation or 91 days? I guess I'm a little confused seeing different responses. They are both 2K SL and my income should have no problem supporting higher.
Thanks!
You can ask for your first increase whenever you want. However you can only get an increase on 1 card every 6 months. So you can get an increase on either the BCE of the EDP but not both. You have to wait 90 days if denied and 6 months if approved
Thank you. So if I get a CLI on the BCE at activation, I wait 181 days to ask for the EDP. And then alternate from then on out (or hope for autos).

Correct. But auto cli doesn't count against tou
So a little question for some clarification... do any of you still receive any verbiage on your denial letters stating it's been too soon since a denial or CLI? I've never seen any mention of 90 days on my denial letters whatsoever and I've probably submitted CLI requests on my pathetic $500 CL ED 30 times now...
However, the reasons they enumerate did drop down to only two items on my most recent denial letter.
I'm mostly curious because my DW was just approved for a $1000 CL BCE and I want to be more strategic about my CLI requests as I'm hoping Amex doesn't hate her like they hate me.

Yes. My letter today said denied due to recent denial in last 90 days.

I did share my news in the credit cards section but it should also go here. I think amex has tightened the reigns ever so slighly. If you are being issued 1k or 2k starting limits on their BC/BCE/ED/EDP I would wait at least 6 months of use and paying before requesting one.
I know for me they had to approve my request based on my PRG activity...because that is really all I use. My ED has had a balance on it since I opened it in may. In fact, it has $900 on it right now.
For amex to approve my 3x CLI request on my ed from 5k-15k without countering, that says to me my activities with them are spot on. I hope to see my other cards have increases next year, expecially al the 2-3k range ones.
Anywho, my util has been 1-3% the last few months, which probably has been a huge help. Good luck yall.

I just realized I responded yesterday and didn't click post. Anyways in my situation my first denial was due to my credit score which was the same as it was when I appliedm a month later it increased 20 pts which was reflected on their site so I tried again knowing it would be a denial because of the 90 days and the reason they have me was my time with amex is too short. There have been users that mentioned because of denial within 90 days but not many. Either way whether they list it or not, their rule is 90 days between denials and 6 months between approvals.
Account was opened 64 days with a starting cli of $2000.Tried to do the 3 XCLI no balance on AMEX and got the 7-10 day response I called and was told I was denied so I guess this no longer works. How soon until I can apply again?

It does work. You just weren't approved.

Followed the guide here exactly and was still denied. How soon until I can try again?
