@simplynoirwrote:That depends on whichever card you want to keep long-term whether that's the Delta, Hilton, or SPG.
I'm thinking I will go SPG. That seems to benefit my lifestyle the most. Only problem is now I need to decide if I keep the Delta/Hilton cards when the AF arrives. Not sure if I will use those much now that I have learned that the SPG and PRG get the most use due to their benefits.
Well if you use the SPG for hotel stays the Hilton is defintely redundant and should probably go when the next AF hits. Make sure you look up how any reminaing points left on the account will be handled in the event of a card cancellation. The Delta can still be useful if you use the benefits such as discounted lounge access and free checked bag. That's something you have to determine for yourself.
My BCE was opened in January 2018 and my Hilton Honors in Feb 2018. Chat rep said one of them needs to be open for 6 months before I can ask for a CLI. Sorry if that type of data point example has been mentioned.

That rep is incorrect. If it's a new account for a new customer all you have to wait is for 61 days from when the card was approved before applying to get a 3X CLI. If approved then it's 181 days, declined for reasons other than requesting too early is 91 days. I don't think I've heard of a datapoint like the one you're describing.

I actually use both. Depends on who has the best deals at the time and where we are going but favor Starwood/Marriott currently.

Agreed. Amex issued me a BCE the end of December. I CLI'd earlier this week -- not 3x, 'cause (for me) that'd be stoopid high, but over 2x. Instant approval.

Congrats! Even though it’s not 3x that’s still amazing in a short time!
Today is day 62 on my Delta Gold Amex. I logged in and tried 3x and received the "7-10 day written response" message. No follow up emails thus far, ~1 hour later. Should I call or see this as a denial? I started with a 1k CL and I have read the threads that those can be harder to CLI.
I would call CS to confirm what the denial was for.
