Congrats! That's an impressive CL!
No wood-knocking is required. I'm pretty sure we don't have any reports of Amex asking for income verification after granting a CLI.
@Anonymous wrote:If it's a CC I don't think there's any rule stating that you need to wait a certain amount of time. Members have reported getting 2 Amex card approvals in close proximity using the same HP. I think the rule is different though with their charge cards, where you must wait 30 days after getting one to apply for another.
Soft policy is typically 2 revolvers in 90 days. 2 revolver applications can be submitted on the same day although results can vary from the traditional 5-day 'soft' restriction. No limit on charge cards, so there's no need to wait 30 days.

@Anonymous wrote:Totally understand the 3x limit route, but would rather start with $3k vs $1k if there's a card that's typically more generous than others when it comes to SL.
I don't believe that there is.
Actually, there are. Higher AF cards like Delta Reserve, Hilton Aspire, Bonvoy Brilliant typically have higher starting SLs (at the low end) to comply with the Card Act requirements.
Sorry if this has been asked, but just trying to clarify as I'm at the 61 day mark for a CLI. Does the $34,500 max exposure prior to a financial review count for charge cards as well?
For example, I have a $34K Pay over Time limit on my Platinum and $9.4K limit on my Hilton Honors Aspire that is eligible for the 3X CLI.
Would I be safe to ask for a CLI or does it put me at risk for a financial review?

My understanding has been that it is per card, not total exposure but someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Worst case is you get a POI prompt and you just back out of it, ignore it and request a lesser amount.

^ this. The terminology is confusing, but Financial Review is totally different from Income Verification (aka: proof of income, 4506-T, tax transcripts. If you look back a month or so in this thread, one of the Mods or Community Leaders posted a detailed explanation of the differences.
The short version is that FR is very serious; IV is far less serious; big CLI requests often trigger IV but don't trigger FR. So you're fine.
Also, charge cards' POT limits don't have anything to do with CLIs. They're completely separate.
Also also, the $34.9k thing is a myth. As long as you only increase $5k at a time, many people go way past $35k (depending on profile) without ever giving IV. Search the forum for BBS's epic journey to lofty heights that way.

Thanks for all the good info! Hit the button and got automatically approved to a new limit of $28K and that it'll be available in 15 minutes. Thanks again!
Awesome, congratulations! Was the $28k what you originally entered in, or did you start higher and work your way back until $28k yielded an instant approval?
Congratulations!!! @Anonymous
