I was denied too and i have student loan debt.  I wonder if that is why?   I am still waiting on the letter.

Ok is there a certain time of day on your 61st day to be eligible for the cli? Aug 4 is my 61st day and I did my online request at 1:03 am CST and got 7-10 day. Then received immediate email(dated 8/3) that I wasn't eligible yet.

I just got accepted for an AMEX BCE a week ago. They said they first report / Statement is on August 12th.  I currently have 20% UTI on the card. Should I pay it all off before my first statement hits? So I can have a better chance of CLI? I have other CC's to payoff that don't have 0% APR bonus.

It's really up to you. People have gotten their cli both ways,carrying a balance and Pif. Although the consensus is Amex prefers you pif. First statement, I Pif'ed after the statement cut. 2nd statement, before.

Requested 3x cli with a limit of 8k and was instantly approved for 19.4k!!  Balance of 1400.00 (0% APR) reported last statement with overall utilization at 6%.

Today was my day... over a cup of coffee this morning it took about 30 seconds!

$5K to $15K approved.

• In the two months with the card I ran about $1500 through the account
• I carried a balance of $600 over into this second statement and paid it off a week before hitting the luv button
• No inquiries since June
• Scores are really close to what they show below
• Overall UTIL on all cards was about 25%
• Income: $134K

Now I have finally broke the 10K barrier!
