When I received my BCE in the mail in June, I immediately requested a 3X CLI upon activation. It brough my SL from $4,000 to $12,000. Tomorrow is day 181 and I'm going to request for another CLI.
I've used the BCE every month but have only spent $2,169 through this card since I've had it. Always PIF, and 3 out of the 6 statements I've PIF before the statement was cut. Income is ~$49,000 on file with Amex. I have a CSP with $10,000 CL and WF Visa with $12,500 CL. My EX FICO score is 745 from Amex's last SP.
I'm contemplating on requesting for an increase to $25,000 or maybe even $30,000 on the BCE. The problem is that I noticed my total spend is not a lot on this card and was wondering if you would think it's possible for Amex to grant the full amount?

Ask for the full amount. If they want to give you less, they'll counter.

I had the same starting limit just over 6 months ago. And did as you did, asked 3X(4K) when I activated card. 2 1/2 weeks ago I ask for 24K. It was an instant approval. Good luck!
I ask for my CLI on the 180th day. I used this to pin point the exact day http://www.convertunits.com/dates/180/daysfrom/Mar+21,+2015
My DW is close to her 180 days, right now she has 10k. I'm telling her to go only for 20k, she still has cards with 3k and just got one at 4.5k. After this card and CLI she will focus on getting lower APRs and higher limits on her cards, the goal is to have all cards at 5k or more.
I have her as AU in my Cap1, so the reported available credit is getting close to 2x her income. We don't want to get denials for too much available credit in the future so we plan to stay around 2X her income with her cards and the AU.
Good luck.
I have exciting news... Instant approval bringing my my CL to $30K! When I say instant, I mean literally less than 1 second from clicking Submit to seeing this page:

Just to clarify the 181 days, it's not "tomorrow is day 181 and I MUST make the decision NOW to take the CLI or not get it". That's not how it works. You are then able to contemplate whether you want to, whether you need to, ask for another CLI.
You could do that, you could ask for 3x and see what they come back with. And then you'd have one AMEX with the max limit, and no space to get any other AMEX cards if you decided to app in the near future. As long as you are fine with that, with blocking out likely additional apps for quite some time, then go for it.
My Delta Gold card came up to the latest 181 some time in May. I had used the 3X in late 2014 to go from $3k to $9k, then got the Hilton card for $10k in April. So in June I bumped the Delta card by just $3k to $12k total. Then in August felt the need to get the SPG with the temporary 30k points bonus, $10k, then in October the EDP with the temporary 30k points bonus, $15k, and finally PRG for the temporary 50k points bonus.
I think if I had pushed the Delta Gold to the $27k max, those two later revolver approvals may not have happened. As it is, I'm now at $47k in revolvers plus PRG with no 4506-T request.
So, the question to contemplate, and perhaps contemplate for a few days; do you really need more than this $12k limit? Because from here on out, if it turns out you DO need that much of a limit, the 3X CLI request tool is waiting for you to select it then. But you don't have to select it on a specific day.
Good luck!
Well, Congratulations !
