Trouble with cap1 app.

I hear you can have 5 cap 1 cards. I tried to get a couple more cap1 cards. I currently have QS1 and a co branded card by Cap1 PlayStation
Anytime I fill out the pre qualifier I get nothing offered. I fill out the application and I get an instant denial.
"Based your your application information you have to many capital one accounts"
What gives?
My credit is never pulled.

They now require six months between cards.

I have 3 of the cap one cards and not sure if they changed the rules but when I was applying I use to read the agreement terms and it would say if you have this certain card then you couldn't get certain ones worth looking into

5 is max number of "open"cards you can have with them, including other cards they back such as Kohl's, Neiman Marcus, etc.......

Thats what happened to me awhile back, before I combined, I had 4 majors, and 2 store cards backed from them. I closed Kohls out, and let it report closed, and then was able to get a 5th card....then I combined 6 months later everything.

I think I figured it out. Back in 2015 I received 2 goodwills from them on 2 CO accounts from 2012 I paid and they removed them from my credit report. I bet in someway those 2 are counting towards my total of cards with them :/
