Trying for a chase CLI, how should I proceed?

So, a few months ago I paid all of my cards of completely. When I did this, chase dropped my credit limit on my amazon card from $2,000 to $1,000. My score eventually went up over 100 points and I'm now sitting around 740 with I believe 1-2 inquiries now depending on where you look. I tried for a CLI on this chase card and they told me I would get a response in a few days. I received an email telling me that I was denied and to read the letter on their website as it was important. The letter said

"Thank you for applying for a credit line increase....we did not approve your request.... Our decision was based on the following reason 'your credit line was recently increased'.

My issue is, I have had two chase credit card for about 3 years. I never once got an increase. When I paid off all my cards, like I said, without me even asking for an increase, they just lowered my limit (at the time my uti was high on cards never late or anything and my score was lower due to my uti). Now my score is much higher less than 1% utilizaition and they deny my request with the reason that I recently received an increase. I'm confused on how I should proceed. Is there a special recon number that I should call who would be more beneficial in this circumstance to possibly get that decision changed and be approved for a CLI. I mean, at this point I would even appreciate just simply getting my old CL back although I do feel as though my limit should be quite a bit higher.

If you have never had an auto increase or one you requested I would definitely see about calling in and speaking with someone Higher up, not just a CR.   ^^     Good luck to you and hopefully someone will post maybe a number or a different route you can try to take as well
