I received a pre-selected offer in the mail yesterday from US Bank for the platinum Visa. I debated applying and decided it was worth it. I have banked with US Bank for several years. I kow they are conservative but determined i was willing to take the hard pull on TU ( they pull TU in my area) From researching here I realize the 7-10 day message is normal for them as thye manually review most applications. I got that message however, right after the message another screen came up asking if I wanted to add an authorized user to the card and/or enroll in the credit protection insurance. I applied for a card from US Bank about 9 months ago was ultimately denied but the bads thye denied me for are now gone. When i got the 7-10 day message that time no other screen appeared... Is this a good sign or just normal for them?
Your going to be approved 99% sure. They even manually review approved CLIs before adding the CL to available credit.

As I said in another thread, I used to get invitations to apply or pre-selected, letters from U.S Bank with wide apr ranges...now I get "You're prequalified" and my apr is 16.99 after 0 apr for 12 billings cyles.
I would say pre-selected mailers are geared towards everyone and defnitely not a guarantee.

No word yet on approved or declined. I applied on the 24th, 7-10 business day wait. My mailer had a set APR. When I find out if I was approved or declined I will update.

As an update, I received the card in the mail yesterday 04/02. I did not receive an email which I thought was strange from what others have posted and as of Friday the staus line said it was being reviewed still. Anyway apporved at $3500. My prequal did have at stated interest rate of 16 and something APR (sorry do not remember exact, but it was not a range) I will not be carrying a balance. I think that extra screen asking to add authorized users and/or add insurance protection seems to be a good indicator of approval. As a decleine does not move to that screen. To top it off I was approved for an AMEX BCE yesterday, I had a charge off in 2009 from AMEX and thought I would be blacklisted for ever, I check the prequal site from time to time and it always blanks... yesterday I checked and it said congrtualtions you are prequalified for... and showed me 3 cards. I thought no way.. but decided to app as my EX only has 2 inquires on it and one is a year old. Approved... lousy starting SL of 1000.00 but i know it will build... I also stil have bads on my reports all very old and close to falling off but they are still there. I am going to garden from applying now for the next 24 months as I have what I need and will work on CLI.
