US Bank starting limit increases?

I just found out I was approved for the Carlson Rewards Visa for a limit of 1K. I called the underwriting department to see about increasing this. I asked for 5K to bring it in line with my Discover card. She said she would submit it and that they would use the pull from my original application. Any truth to this? The pull was on 6/7 o_O I've taken a hit to my score after opening a new auto loan since then, plus all the related inquiries, so I'm nervous. Does anyone have recent experience with them?

Re: US Bank starting limit increases?

Are you referring to experience with increasing this card or US Bank in general? Because in general you always have the option to request an increase, the choice of it being a HP may vary though.

Re: US Bank starting limit increases?

US Bank is usually very conservative. They might want to do another HP for a CL increase too. Hope not. But 1K starting CL is not unusual. They are alot like Wells Fargo too. Both usually conservative. I have experience with both.

Re: US Bank starting limit increases?

Having a CLI done using the original HP is a possibility. If you are speaking with a competent Backdoor rep they will make the notes to the analyst such as "only facilitate request using one HP or same HP etc."

I had a similar experience when increasing the CL on both my Cash + cards using one HP. Analyst did exactly as was asked and both were approved with one HP.

Good luck! They are conservative, but if your credit file supports your request they do accommodate their customers.
