Is this typically a sign of preapproval?
Shows up when I go to look at their credit cards. My scores aren't great right now (low 600s) so I'm too scared to pull the trigger.
$200 reward bonus after $500 in Qualifying Purchases by 05/31/2020.
I would love this card. $500 in three months spend for $200 back is super easy for me. Phone bill and car insurance got it covered.
It's just marketing, unfortunately. Also, FYI, USAA uses Experian FICO 3, not FICO 8. It's an older scoring model and often lower than FICO 8.
Thanks for the input. I'll continue to wait patiently for 91/3 with NavyFed, only a month to go! 3/23/20
Good Luck with Navy!
And yeah- as for USAA, if you get a pre-approved offer, it will actually say pre-approved on it. Even a prequalified offer will say pre-qualified (not as strong as a pre-approval, but you meet some lending standards). Everything else - these "invites" are just marketing.

@J8 I have the same exact 91/3 date. I'm going for the More Rewards AMEX.
Unfortunately, it looks like a solicited offer as stated upthread.
That's awesome! That's the exact same card I'm going for.
Started with the cash rewards visa right after opening an account. Approved instantly for $500. I've spent maybe $2,000 on the card so far. Multiple payments before the statement hits. I leave $10 to report for statement, then pay it off right away.
I think there's a reward bonus for $2,500 spend. Not sure. I'm sure I'll get the bonus though. I use the card for literally everything and am very on top of payments.
Hopefully I hit the jackpot with the more rewards Amex. A high limit card will help me out tremendously with my credit journey. Can't wait!
