USB Altitude Connect $500 SUB worth a shot for a 5 year old FlexPerks sock drawered card ?

Have had the US Bank Flexperks Visa for over 5 years and the SL has never graduated to a higher CLI - always received a CLI denial.

So it's been sock drawered and considering cancelling the card as the $49 AF is not giving anything back...

My questions:

Will applying for the Altitude Connect product be a good choice or waste of a HP considering how USB has "treated" me in the past 5 years ?

I want a new domestic travel card but unsure about their travel portal they use - anyone use it ?

Likely somewhat of a chicken vs egg effect with the FlexPerks card - you sockdrawered the card because they wouldn't give you a CLI, and they won't give you a CLI because the card has been sockdrawered.

If from a usage standpoint the Connect makes sense to you I'd say go ahead and apply.  With US Bank a manual review is commonplace anyway. An underwriter with half a clue would clearly see your inquiries were due to rate-shopping for a mortgage and not seeking unsecured credit
