That ^ is your answer.
Hahaaa yes, because what happened is, last year by june or a little earlier i started working on my credit. The only account i had was a wells fargo secured cc. Then a few baddies, and that's it. So i thought, if/when all the baddies are gone, i will not have anything left on my credit report. So i started working on gettin some new accounts, and the easiest choice seemed to be the SCT. I figured if i will go for it, it should be for all or nothing. Between those accounts, a new car loan, personal loan, and some synchrony cards, along with a few credit cards, that's where i am right now. Because i litteraly had no accounts (except the baddies) no harm to AAoA, and score was low 500's fico, so no harm to that either. So now, i am going towards building a very solid AAoA, and no inquiry or new account effects my fico score because of the thick file. I really don't think that cli request was turned down due to these new accounts, because if it was the case, they would not even give me the total $34K credit in the first place. And honestly whatever the rason is, i don't care much because that's more than enough limit for me. Now i am focusing more on growing other cards rather than the store cards.
sgs71, I had the same problem with my Lowes card. I request a CLI a couple of times, even calling in and was denied. Last weekend, after having the card for one year, I said to myself "I'm going to hit this button one last time and if II'm denied, I'm closing the card." Hit the button and went from $300 to $2300.

+1
My Lowe's experience was similar.
When I had problems years ago with other lenders (but was never late with Lowe's) they balance chased me all the way to $470. After that I SD the card for a few years, then eventually I would use it 'once in a blue moon' for a one-off charge. The limit stayed at $470 for 7+ years (!). Finally last March I said "what the heck" and used the online link, and it was immediately increased to $3750. Back in the fall I gave it another shot, and they raised me to $7500, and just a couple of months ago I tried yet again and got it raised to $10k.
Today, it's my oldest credit line and one of my highest limits... I'm very, very glad I never gave up on Lowe's!
