Does anyone know if it is required to have sagestream unfrozen to be approved for a US bank card?
my score is always low on there even though I'm in the 800s with the major 3 because the individual who previously had my phone number had some defaults and I guess sagestream ties phone numbers to reports regardless of the individual owner of the number has changed.
I can't change my number since I run a business and it would be very costly.
Applying with sage stream frozen can go either way. You can be denied, or they may decide it's not important enough.
As far as phone number being tied to someone else, how long have you had this number

Thank you for the reply. I've had the number for almost four years.
I've disputed the negative information tied to the number twice by certified mail, return receipt and I've never received a reply. When I reached someone on the phone, I was told they don't have to adhere to same rules regarding disputes as the three major credit agencies since this is a phone number and not an account.
FWIW when i use to have us bank cards sagestream was always froozen. With that said none of approvals were automatic whether that made the reason or just us bank being us bank. As always YMMV as mentioned above with certain 2nd tier CRAs froozen
I recently was approved for a US Bank card (had to recon) and my Sagestream was frozen because I forgot about it. Reconsideration did not mention it in my case.
