Venmo Visa soft pull denial

Didn't see this mentioned but this morning I got into my Venmo app and clicked the credit card to see if there might be a new promo and noticed you can apply and only get a HP if approved . Not sure if it works like apples and you can decline or not if approved but thought that was new and interesting . I did not follow through but may soon .

Thanks for the DPs @Goos. So, this must be a new thing with the Venmo CC. I know there's pre-qualification portals for SYNCB CCs such as Lowe's, CareCredit, GAP, Old Navy and Walgreens, for instance.

What SL was offered for yours? Did you decline the offer?

I didn't hit submit because I just got a Sam's club MasterCard and wasn't trying to upset the synchrony bear 🐻. The wording just said no impact on credit if denied . I'm hopeful that it is like apple and you can deline the offer.  I will probably wait a month or two but maybe someone brave will find out . Screenshot_20211127-120122.png

Re: Venmo Visa soft pull denial

So I decided to be a guinea pig. Just got going on my rebuild and figured that it would just be a soft pull denial. I submitted the application and it asked me to upload my ID. Few minutes later approved for 250. So, no they don't let you decline the offer lol. Hopefully synchrony will let me grow it as my rebuild moves forward.

Re: Venmo Visa soft pull denial

Well thank you for taking the plunge and testing that out . It would be nice if you could not accept but it is a nice feature regardless . Several years ago most of  my HP came from hopes and dreams that were denied .
