Venture CLI after 74 days - turned down

I have had my Venture account for 74 days. Out of curiosity I applied for CLI and was offered $2,000 to bring my new CL to $7,000.

I did not accept and will wait until next statement cuts on August 9th in hopes a higher increase would be offred.

$2-3,000 seem to be typical increases for Capitol One. I got a $3k increase about 90 days in on my Venture.

3k appears to be the high end and 1k appears to be the low end on the Venture...  Probably all depends on how much spend you put on it along with credit profile

Re: Venture CLI after 74 days - turned down

I should probably accept the $2K increase and hope for something higher on Christmas day (when my 6 months are up).

By accepting the increase it will bring down utilization by 3%. The other good thing about the venture increase is I would be in a position to close out unused commentiy accounts (avenue, Marisota, SimplyB,) as these are all at $250 CL and I just don't see a need to shop with them. These accounts were obtained by SCT and are around 4 months old.

Probably will never use and they were obtained to help reduce utilization before getting Discover, Key Bank and Venture cards.

Utilization is still too high to get CLI from Walmart, Amazon and AMex.....due to unforseen medical expenses that were not covered by insurance. Financial recovery for E.R. and hospital stays for wife will take a year to pay down.

They *may* up their offer to $3k if you hold off a little longer, but they may not. As previously stated, $2k-$3k seems to be about the average CLI.
