Back when I applied for the venture card I denied for "lack of experience with higher credit limits." My scores were in the lower 600s and limits at the time were Cap 1 - 600, Cap1 - 600, Cap1 - 2,200, Credit Union - 5000, Amazon - 600, Blue Nile - 1000. Was i actually denied for lack of experience or more so for low credit scores; possibly combo of both?
Currently Cap1 - 1,500, Cap1 - 1,500, Cap1 - 2,200(CLI next month), Amazon - 5,000, Bluenile - 2,500 and scores all 650+. Would my odds be better now? I would love to apply toward the end of the year (I am sure my scores will be closer to 700 then)
Is anyone familiar with the reason they gave? The only thing the letter said was that I didn't have enough experience with higher limits.
Starting Score: 485 06-20-14Have you tried their prequal site? I didn't dare to apply until the prequal came up since they triple pull.
At the time I think I just went for it! haha
I haven't checked their pre-qual since I apped for it a few months back - looking to combine all my cap1 cards next month! Hopefully they liked me more toward the end of this year and pre-qual for the venture. I am pretty sure my uti was pretty high; like 85% ^ high at that time! Now it is around 23% but hasn't updated just yet - last update had overall uti at 44%. I am sure lower uti and higher scores will help me get it toward the end of this year (Cap1 has always been great since i started my rebuild)
Starting Score: 485 06-20-14I had 3 capital one card. The secured 500 platinum 2000 (pced to quicksilver) quicksilver one 3000 applied for another quicksilver got a starting limit of 8000 and venture SL of 15000 about 2 months ago. Just canceled my secured card and just right now got an Amex with SL of 18000 score between 675-695
