Venture as my first Capital One?

This coming September I plan to apply for my final cc in my portfolio, the Venture and hopefully get a nice CL. When I do apply in 9mo I will have no inquiries in the last 12mo, a score of 770, a few CL's of 5K and maybe a CL with BofA of 10k+. Do I have a decent shot at a Venture even if I have no history with Capital One? Or do they prefer to see history with a platinum or QS?Woman Very Happy

Re: Venture as my first Capital One?

my mom got a 30k venture with scores in the 680-690s range, with a bunch of recent INQ.. And only prior history was a charged off account which they realized was fraud but was still in their system (removed off her report, but not their records), so no I don't think so...

Re: Venture as my first Capital One?

You have an easy shot at a Venture, it's just a matter of the CL which with those stats should be pretty good. I'm thinking 15k+ at minimum Smiley Happy

Good luck when you do apply!

Re: Venture as my first Capital One?

Have you checked the pre-approval site yet? I would expect that you are already pre-approved, and if you do end up with 770 when you apply, then honestly I think you know the answer.

Not sure how you know what your score will be 9 months from now, lol, but assuming it is that high, you'll be fine.

CAP 1 has somewhat of a loose credit underwriting.  You stand a good chance of getting approved with a good limit.  Keep us posted on results when you do apply...
