WF Bilt -Pending

Applied a few hours ago for the WF Bilt Mastercard expecting an auto approval since WF has been sending me pre-approvals for a few of their other CCs and SP my EX twice a month. Unfortunately I got the dreaded "your application is pending" message instead.

They pulled EX. I am in NY.

Stats at time of app:

EX fico 8- 702 (dropped to 698 after the WF HP)

Not sure what my EX fico 9 was at the time of the application but it's currently a 693 after the WF inquiry

Inquiries: 1/6, 2/12, 3/24

New Accounts: 0/6, 1/12, 3/24

Total util: 2%

AAoA: 5 years 10 moths

AAOa: 20 years, 9 months

2 Amex charge cards with low blances- $9 & $300

9 month old revolver balance- $330/10,000 (3% util.)

1 AU cc with 15% util

2 revolvers with 0 balance

Baddies:

1 settled CO 4 years, 9 months ago (Chase)

1 -30 day late from over 2 years ago (Capital Bank/Opensky)

I called 4 different WF #s to see if I could talk to an underwriter but no dice. Each CSR looked at my appliaction for a few minutes and said there are no notes on my app and that my app is "under review" by an underwriter and I would have to wait 24-72 hours for a decision. CSR confirmed they pulled EX but would not give me the credit score. (#s I called- 877-514-3717, 800-967-9521, 888-503-6091, & 866-412-5956.)

I searched old posts in MyFico and only thing I could think of is that perhaps a WF checking account that was closed out with a zero balance 2 months ago might be working against me? Opened for the $225 bonus back in Aug. Deposited $1,000. Withdrew the $1K 2 months later. Received the $200 bonus, withdrew that 2 weeks later and closed the account amonth later with a zero balance.

I was hoping to use this cc for some large charges next week as Bilt has been offering many new cc holders 5x in the first 5 days after receiving the physical card. I tried to time my app with that but it seems I failed. Any advice or backdoor #s I should try calling tomorrow?

Just from the sounds of it, with the DP's you provided I think you'd be approved. Wishing you the best of luck, you deserve it! Nevermind the small stuff as I'm in a WF checking promo as well, and will close soon after as well.

My application went pending as well.

Applied 04/12, then missed their call that day.

Received a letter stating "Identity can't be verified"; they pulled Experian. Called them today 04/20 and went through some verification.

Then the agent forwarded the application for further review...Still waiting..

Update:

Came back with "We’ll reach out in the next 30 days with more information about why we couldn’t approve your application."
