WHAT SHOULD MY NEXT CARD BE

Hello everyone,

I'm a 22 year old student currently. I have had my Discover IT (1500 CL) since 2015, Barclays Apple Rewards (2000$ CL) since Aug 2016, and my CareCredit since Apr 2017 (1800 CL) (because of a dental emergency.) I have had no late payments. My utilization is at 29%. Still paying some off. I plan to pay it all off in 3 months. I have 2 inquiries and one which will be gone (or atleast will not impact my score) in August. I'm looking to apply for another card. I just saw BankAmeriCard which has an introductory offer of 0% for 15 months on purchases and BT. And if BT is made within 60 days then no FEE!! So that's one I'm looking at. I'm wondering if you guys know of any other good offers or which card you guys would suggest as my next one.

What credit limit should I expect with an income of about $28,000.

Current scores are: Equifax - 703, Transunion: 692, Experian: 716

Thanks for reading!

Re: WHAT SHOULD MY NEXT CARD BE

Hit the amex, cap1, and chase prequal sites to see what they show you. Then, if you are only apping to get a new card just for the sake of building credit, wait until your uti is low so that you have a better chance of a higher starting limit. As weve all read across this site, the best stats seem to be one card with a uti less than 10% and the rest reporting $0. Good Luck.

Hard to predict limits given for credit cards regardless of income as someone with high income and high limits still can get a low limit card, has happened and will continue to happen. And vice versa, some people with low incomes can score big limits irregardless of income. One recent posters daughter is a student 11k income 14k Amex approval. Go figure Smiley Wink

Ill just say at 28k , you can accomplish alot in timeSmiley Wink

I agree, and I feel I may be a testament to the "low income, high limits". My SL on my CapOne QS was 10k, AmEx BCP was 10k, Marvel MC was 12k, Blispay was 7.5k. From there, I believe the rest of my SLs to have been "average" (Discover 1k, US Bank 5.4k, Chase 5.4k, Citi DC 1.5k)

In order of my apps and SLs, I had Discover at 1k, then a few months later I got CapOne QS at 10k, then about 9 months later I went on a spree and got the AmEx 10k, Marvel 12k, Citi 1.5, USBank 5.4, Chase 5.4, Blispay 7.5 in that order for apps/SLs. A few of them have changed since with CLIs, but those were the SLs I got in which order all with about 23-28k/yr in income (promotions and raises between apps)

But that also goes to show how scattered/unpredictable SLs can be as well

Although I've recently started to include my SOs income to see if that could boost my CLs a bit on my next few CLI attempts
