Walmart application

i just applied for the walmart card because i shop there a ton and have been wanting to get there card. im getting ready to buy a hitch for my suv and thought if i get the card i can get the $25 statement credit. So i applied and got the we will let you know in 7-10 days or 3-4 by email........pretty sure there telling me to go kick rocks. My current scores are around 720's but have a thin profile......so frustrating im trying to expand my credit profile and add some credit to my mix but no one will give me any love....

IMHO, just based on your score, I think you have a decent shot at being approved. I was approved in Dec with a TU Fico 08 of 640. But, a very low SL of $200. Good luck!

Called there credit card line and talked to the person and they said I was denied will let me know why in 7-10 days......not to happy.

It happens . Sorry. I actually got rejected my 1st time with Wally as i began my rebuild almost 9 years post bk, yeah , i didnt know i could start rebuilding almost immediately. When i did get approved, probably around 670, i got the buck fiddy, yup, so $200 is like a CSR in comparison lol. Sync doesn't recon so i would just continue building your profile. Maybe look into a CU.

One thing i note, many of us want the Wally MC but most start with the store card. By the time we could get it, most of us already have better cards. Go figure. Good luck on your journey Op

Ah, very sorry, OP. Did you apply for the MC or the store card?

I’m not to sure which one honestly I wanted the store card is what I wanted but got a denial on whatever I applied for.

I believe when you apply for Walmart, you are automatically trying for the Mastercard but if you dont qualify are given the Store card. You cant specifically app for the MC. Hopefully once its with Cap One people dont have to take 3 pulls for it. Yikes.

Ive already gone for a CLI on my Wally SC and am thinking a going for more.  Once this goes to Cap1 I know I wont get any more increases.

So I got my email stating why I was denied, the only reason on the whole sheet was “to many recent inquiries” my transunion is up to 12 inq but 7 or 8 were from a recent car loan I got I thought auto inquiries were counted as one with rate shopping!?!?

Only for purposes of FICO scoring. They're still each going to be listed individually in your credit report.
