I guess no FTF is nice too 😛
I don't particularly like them. Their "we won't give you a CLI on your current card, but if you want more credit go ahead and apply for another card and get three hard pulls" system is ridiculous.
The real reason I like them is that they gave me one of my first cards following my BK in 2012. They gave me my largest ICL to date. They give me regular CLI. They allow me to have up to 5 cards open at any one time. They have never reduced my CL and I have only been denied once or twice (when by my own admission I got greedy!).
I can't stand them. They have triple pulled me every single time and have NEVER given me a high starting limit. I had two of their cards that were stuck with limits less than 1k for over THREE YEARS. They screwed me out of the signup bonus on my Quicksilver Visa claiming that it is the same product as the Quicksilver One MasterCard. It is definately NOT the same product which they had just recently made clear when I tried to upgrade from one to the other. I don't travel internationally, but if I did I assume I would use a travel card and I've never felt the need to redeem rewards 50 cents at a time. Never once have I ever been standing at the register and thought to myself "I would rather earn 1.5% instead of 2% this time" so I never get any use out of QS at all. Their CSRs are useless reading scripts back to you that you can just as easily read yourself on their website.
The are great when you're sub-prime and can't get anything else and the fact that you can SD their cards for ever and they never close them is a plus I guess. That's the only reason I keep it open. As a just in case whatever happens I know they wont close it on me.
RE: wacdenney post:
My wife and I have had a total of 10 CO accts over the years. I dont consider either of us to be subprime borrowers as we have a total of 250k available credit from various lenders including Barclays, CHASE, Bank of America and CITI . I have gotten every single sign up bonus and have amassed close to 500k in points over the years.. I have never had a charge declined and I have never been misled after applying for one of their products. Yes they triple pull. They do that to everyone. That is their policy. They are one of the few lenders who did not decrease my available credit during the last recession. I do not consider them to be a subprime lender although they offer products to those starting the rebuild proccess. Sorry but I will have to disagree with you on this one.
They took me from a $300 limit platinum in credit steps (only unsecured card I could get) to 3.3k platinum, 10k venture, and a 25k auto after 7 months of getting my platinum in the mail. They took a chance that I had my financial world by the balls again and it was a great bet for them. I'm spending 3k to 7k on my venture per month with them now, they get every purchase I can throw their way. That kind of support gets rewarded with my business every time.
Also, I had an issue with some korean air flights not automatically getting recognized as travel purchases in the app. I called in and got the nicest lady on the planet in Florida. Never a wait, she followed up with me exactly when she said she would a week later to make sure I had my rewards applied how I wanted.
I noticed different CS numbers on the backs of my visa signature and the Mc through them. Does visa signature enjoy a different (possibly better) cs line?
