Right now I'm rebuilding and was thinking of applying to some comenity store but didn't want to be denied.
Currently I I have an AMEX $9400 limit -no bal- open 9/2014, Wells Fargo Secured Card $700 limit- $277 bal- open 12/2014, US Bank Secured Card $750 limit - $228 bal -open 01/15, & Sears (I'm auth user) $3000 limit-no bal - open 10/12. All are paid on or before due date.
As of today my FICO scores are : Eq 626, Trans 620, & Exp 654. I just would like some feedback on if I should apply, should I just wait, and what stores should I apply to.
The main question is the store card is a NEED or WANT. Because you have some good cards and don't necessarily need store cards. If you are going to be using the store card then fine. What store do you shop at and what do you have in mind? It is about what you want.
I can say apply for a buckle card but do you really need it?

I shop at Ashley Stewart online all the time and saw on this forum the credit card is a comenity bamk card. I also shop at Macy's, Herbergers, & TJ Maxx as well. I just don't want to apply and have inquires on my report(s) if I'm going to be denied.

I would say if you want and need a store card to add the your credit mix, Id apply for a Synch backed card because those limits increase very quickly and will go higher. Maybe the Walmart Store card...you can use it at Sams and Walmart, and at Sams gas stations. At least get a store card that you'd use, and is useful. If you want a Comenity backed store card that the limits go crazy high on, that would Jcrew. You could probaly get Jcrew through the SCT, and not take a ding on inquiires. You might initially get approved for $250+ on Jcrew, and $300+ on wally, worst case senerios. But they will increase fast!

Search for "Shopping Cart Trick" so you don't actually have to apply and lose a hard inquiry. The Shopping Cart Trick cards are soft inquiries. I'd recommend at least an Overstock card and if you shop at JCrew/Victoria's Secret/Brylane Home/Express. Those give out the highest initial limits, especially Overstock.
The other good cards are the Synchrony ones. For sure get Lowe's and then perhaps Walmart because you get a free TU FICO score every month. Amazon now gives 5% cashback on their purchases so not bad either if you shop alot on Amazon. Get Walmart or Lowe's first...if you are approved, go for the next one. If denied you might want to garden some more. Youre scores are borderline approval.
Let's put it like so.
If you shop at a store regularly, and having their card gives you a special incentive that you could get with no other card. Apply.
If none of those conditions are met, Decline.
