I have a question hopefully someone can help with advise. I am at 4/24, all scores are in 780 range. I have 2 inquiries on all reports and last credit card application was over a year ago. I mainly use Amex and wanted to expand to chase and citi. I wanted to apply to chase first because of 5/24. I am fairly certain that chase uses eq in my state and city uses ex , not that really makes a big difference. I am curious how long I would need to wait to apply to citi after I apply to chase for best approval odds ? I know it is always better to have time in between applications, but I have a use for both card benefits at this time. Thank you in advance for your time.
With those scores I doubt you'll have any issues getting approved for one or both of those cards. And you're correct about Chase, if you want that card you should apply to it first due to the 5/24 rule.
As far as the timing for applying for these two cards, that depends on numerous factors. Best practice is to wait around 6 months between apps. But it's quite possible that you will have no issue applying for both on the same day. If your 4 new accounts in the last 24 months are all in the last 6 months, then you're much more likely to get denied for either or both cards, as it may look like you're aggressively seeking credit. If you haven't opened any cards in the last 12 months, then you'll be fine to open both in the same day (Chase first).

After you get the CSP I don't think you have to wait to apply for the Citi Custom Cash. I think you can go right ahead with it. I think you have excellent approval odds, due to the high scores you've achieved and light credit-seeking.
A bit safer is to wait 8 days to apply to Citi. Citi has a 7/65 rule for getting 2nd and 3rd accounts that's supposed to only apply to Citi credit cards, but I've seen people report auto-denial when they applied for the CCC too soon after another application elsewhere. I mean, you're limited to $25 reward per month on $500 spend anyway. Even safer would be to wait a full month, but I believe 8 days is plenty for your profile.
