When to ask for BoA CLI?

I'm wondering when to ask for a BoA CLI. Any ideas? I will collect possibly relevant DPs and link them here.

I want to avoid a situation like this, this, this. Those weren't in response to a CLI request but it can at least happen. I know it can also happen when you get a new BoA card.

My situation in 2025/06:

  • Relationship:
    • I've had my issues with BOA.
      • 2025/06: They tried to deny me personal checking due to EWS (velocity).
      • 2025/06: They tried to deny me business CC due to a number of velocity reasons, plus "too much available credit."
    • 2022: Personal Merrill Edge self-directed, put in 1k and held it since then.
    • 2025/06: Moved 20k into Merrill Edge, 20k into business checking, started DDs to personal checking. Gold rewards on both.
    • 2025/09: Planning to move another 50k into Merrill Edge, then hold my 70k in personal and 20k in business for a while.
    • 2024/07: Opened personal BOA CC with 18k line. Medium usage since then.
    • 2024/07: Opened business BOA CC with 8k line. Medium usage since then.
  • Business credit stuff:
    • 2025/02: Opened business Chase CC with 5k line. Medium usage since then. Utilization ~10%.
    • No other accounts, no other inquiries as far as I know.
  • Personal credit stuff:
    • New accounts: 2/3, 2/6, 4/12, 6/24
    • Age:
      • AoNA 2m (almost 3, may have rounded to 3)
      • AoOA 12y 6m
      • AAoA 2y 8m
    • Inquiries:
      • TransUnion: 1/3, 2/6, 3/12
      • Equifax: 0/3, 0/6, 1/12
      • Experian: 0/3, 3/6, 4/12
      • All bureaus combined: 3/3, 4/6, 6/12
    • Utilization: 1%-5%, something like that.
    • Personal income between 100k and 200k/year, rent 700/month.
    • No bad stuff
    • Income has not decreased since my last new product or credit pull from BOA.

I just dumped a bunch of money into my BoA accounts, and I have had to fight them to get new products recently. So I think my best bet is to sit tight for six months to a year and hope they start to see my "deposit relationship" in a better light.

On the bright side, they have been staring at me a lot lately (I got a bunch of new products) and they didn't decide to cut my CL at that point.
