Which CC's to apply for after score increase

I plan on applying for 2 cards after credit rebuild but want to know

which ones have the best chance of approval/ high CL/ SP CLI over time.

My current situation is:

Positives:

Citi Secured -0/200 13mo

Indigo MC-    0/300  9mo

Kohls AU-  300/3500  12yrs 8mo

DCU Loan- 0/500   7mo paid off

Self lender- 350/500 9mo/24mo

Negatives:

Dept of Education- charged off 4500 - 5years old

CU Loan Paid off with 2- 30 day lates. - 4 years old

TU-692 inq-3   EX-686 inq-2

What cards should i apply for best chance of approval and decent CL.

I was thinking Discover as one but also want to avoid Cap1.

Should I try Syncorny cards like Paypal or Walmart?

I'm willing to do 3-4 apps and if i get these 2-3 cards. I'm gonna

garden for a good 2-3years before thinking of another application.

Any advice and suggestion would be very helpful.

When are you thinking about doing this?

Excluding your AU account you're just barely over a year into it.

Which card you go for depends on what you spend your money on and where you spend it

Disco has a preapproval page that's pretty solid, give that a try.

As far as Synch goes, one advantage of Walmart card is interest free financing (which can be a trap if not paid by the time promo expires). It offers periodic benefits better than 1% for in store purchases.

Paypal cashback is a great general spend card.

I would look into Discover. Try the prequal page and go from there. You sound like you’re right around the timeframe for a Disco.

Discover It: 26.5k
Amex Cash Magnet: 24.4k
Fidelity Visa: 21.5k
Apple Card: 13k

IMO, with the late payments and charge offs, you might have better luck if you hold off until your scores are at least above 700, especially if a decent CL is what you seek.

Amex and Chase would be especially sensitive to the baddies. That said, in addition to Discover, you might have luck with BofA as well.

Also, personally, I wouldn't waste hard inquiries on Synchrony Cards.

Get a Cap1 Plat. Always a small SL, but I eventually turned mine into a Venture card.

Also, I fully agree with Discover cards. I would shoot for the Balance Transfer IT card, likely to get a higher limit for paying off other smaller cards, and it has the same points benefits.

If you get a Synchrony card, there are now starter cards for Amazon which can be upgraded to a normal Prime. I'm sure many of their more major store cards offer that.

Commenity always has small starters. Victoria's Secret has 100% approval rate! Lol! Many of us have one. 🤫😝😜

I started with Citi, they have Balance Transfers on Simplicity and Diamond Pref, and I think late pay forgiveness, like Discover.
Slate from Chase does as well.

Have you thought about solid installment type cards? Those help diversify you credit types.
Other than that, I always went for notorious BT cards because they usually have 0% APR for 12 - 18 months, and give enough to cover most of your existing credit. ✌😃👍

I do have a boa checking so I don't know of that helps with cc approval.

Would adding another 10yr AU CC help my chances.

I also have a penfed checking,

I wanna do this next week

BofA favors it's own, so I have heard.
And so does PenFed, who seem to be everyone's dream card because Penfed is a great CU and I guess have "da bomb" credit card?

Someone with a Penfed card know what's the what with the what? Lol! 😀😂🤣😃

Oh yes, BofA gives a strong preference to those with an existing relationship.
