Yeah, I thought about that. There's no annual fee the first year, and if approved I would save far more than $49 in interest.
By the time my Discover 0% period runs out, I will shift all my spending to the NFCU card. I do have to put $3,000 through it in the first 90 days to give me 30,000 bonus points, but I'll have that covered in less than two months. With normal monthly spend, I'll earn about 24,000 points, which as far as I can tell gets me about $200 in gift cards. I'm okay with that, coupled with a lower interest rate.
Of course, that all assumes I am approved for the card and get a decent limit so that I can use it beyond my balance transfer desires, although I would still force the $3,000 in spending through.
I decided the benefits outweigh the potential downside (wasted HP vs a savings in monthly minimum payments and interest savings which will build my snowball even bigger). I pulled the trigger and applied online, and got a 24 hour message. Let's cross our fingers for me! ![]()

My data---At the beginning of October, I was approved for the NFCU Cash Rewards (did not apply for the Flagship). But my scores were very similar to yours. They are in my siggy. My income is MUCH less than yours. I have a BK7 from two years ago reporting. I was given a starting limit of $5K. All that to say, I think you might be approved for the Flagship, all things considered.
Good luck!

Should be from app date, just to be safe I would probably call in. If they ask why you need an instant decision just say you were planning on making purchases and wanted to make them on that card. The underwriting extension is 43500 if they say they don't know it, but usually they are very helpful. Good luck!
Just as an update, they said no to the Flagship Visa. They also said I may qualify for the goRewards and that they'd use the same credit report if I wanted to apply, so I said why not, and threw in another application.
Of course, I got hit with a 24 hour review and another inquiry. I'll see what they do on this one, and if I get the card, I'll let it lie. If I don't, I'll ask them to remove the new inquiry.

Sorry to hear this Dalmus. Here's to hoping for the Go Rewards. Did you try a recon with the Flagship Visa app?

I did via secure message, and they just told me that I didn't qualify for the $5,000 limit required for the card.
If I get denied for the goRewards, I wonder if it'd be better if I call in for recon rather than secure message?

Sorry, I'm not completely sure of the best medium for reconning with them. I would think actually talking to a live person would be better. You have the ability to truly explain yourself, etc. But, hopefully, someone can come on and provide some sound advice.
Well, perhaps it won't be necessary. I'll keep the positive thoughts flowing. ![]()
